BOOKS

Dee M. Davis, Author

This is the first in a series of children's books called Mara Meets. The inspiration behind the Mara Meets Series comes from my twin granddaughters, just 3 years old when I wrote this first book.

Watching their boundless energy and excitement as they explore the world around them inspired me to capture that same sense of wonder and curiosity for other young readers.

In each book of the Mara Meets Series, children will join Mara on exciting adventures, where she meets real people from all kinds of occupations—from bakers and engineers to astronauts and artists. It's a fun and inspiring way for children to see all the possibilities waiting for them.

Girder Skirts

With Ally Jencson

Dee Davis - Project Management Expert | Educator | Sustainability Advocate

I had the honor of being a guest on the Girder Skirts podcast with Ally Jencson.  Girder Skirts is a podcast all about women in the construction and automotive trades.

I shared my experience starting out in the trades as a carpenter to running multiple businesses of my own. I provided detailed stories about how I got my start in the industry, some of the big challenges I faced early in my career, and how I managed them.

We discuss the strength of coming from a place of “I don’t know” and being willing to leverage the experience around you to accelerate your learning, how to stay motivated and get rid of the negative self-talk that plagues us all from time to time.  We also discuss work life harmony, business travel, maintaining relationships with family and friends, favorite foods and outdoor hobbies.
